This holiday season, you can share the gospel and create joy for a child with just one shoebox.
Fill an empty shoebox with a “wow” item—like a doll or soccer ball. Then include other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement. Click here for an easy guide for packing your shoebox.
LifeWay Christian Stores will host its own collection day on Saturday, November 11, but if you can't make it make it to a store on time, don't worry, there's also "collection week."
During National Collection Week (Nov. 13 – 20) Samaritan’s Purse collects the gift-filled shoeboxes at more than 4,000 drop-off sites in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
Shipping and Following the Shoebox
Shoebox gifts are prepared for overseas shipment at eight major processing centers across the U.S.—Atlanta; Baltimore; Boone, N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; Dallas; Denver; Minneapolis; and Orange County, Calif.
Samaritan’s Purse and its partners will deliver the gifts to children in more than 150 countries.
You also have the option to follow your box online to discover where in the world your gift is delivered by using this form.
The Gift that Keeps on Giving
It was a simple idea that became the worldwide ministry of Operation Christmas Child—to minister to children in war-torn and famine-stricken countries. In just two decades it has inspired everyday people to provide more than 100 million gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children in 130 countries. This beautiful book weaves the moving, God-saturated story of the ministry’s beginning with the soul-stirring, Christ exalting stories of lives that have been forever changed by a simple shoebox.
Operation Christmas Child is filled with full-color photos of children whose smiles help tell what is a thoroughly hopeful story. Samaritan's Purse President Franklin Graham provides insight as the incredible stories of life transformation are told.
Proceeds from Operation Christmas Child go to support the ministry it seeks to celebrate and honor.
